New Jersey’s 33rd Annual Statewide LGBTQ+ Self-acceptance Celebration will be held in person on Sunday, June 1st, 2025.

As always, they have been operational closely with the host city of Asbury Park to ensure the protection of all participants.

It is the largest and oldest LGBTQ Pride Celebration in the Garden State, with attendance exceeding 20,000 under normal circumstances.

The parade, passing through the center of the host city and shore destination Asbury Park, has grown throughout the years.

Floats, decorated vehicles, marching bands, and enthusiastic marchers are cheered on by spectators who line the parade route.

Look Up, An Asbury Pride Celebration, currently on display in the Grand Arcade of Convention Hall, was created by Gene Mignola, Entertainment House co-founder and textile printer for costumes on Broadway, dance, and opera. Requiring a year and a half from development, movie, to final installation, Look Up celebrates the 31st anniversary of Jersey Celebration and will wing in the Grand Arcade, Convention Hall, on the Asbury Park Boardwalk for the month of June.

A Bit of History

In 2008, Gene relocated his NYC print studio to Asbury Park and opened a store with his loved one on Cookman Street. Gene immediately jumped into the Asbury Park art scene, befriending gallerist Jenn Hampton and active with artists Porkchop and Bradley Hoffer to create printed textiles for the show Art Bloc for Parlor Gallery.

As the store pivoted into original designs and production of Asbury Park-inspired merchandise, Gene spearheaded the collaboration between Joy House and the Wooden Walls Proposal, Asbury Park’s mural non-profit, and worked with mural artists to develop tote bags, beach towels, and designs for t-shirts inspired by their artwork along the boardwalk.

ASBURY PARK -- Many in the LGBTQ+ community here are anxious after what they view as the Trump administration's attack on their very existence.

Deputy Mayor Amy Quinn said that is why it is more important than ever that people show up and show their back for this year's Pride Month celebrations, which start in the city with a parade, rally and festival on June 1.

"We are very nervous about the national climate. I think when you're in a large group of LGBTQ people and allies of LGBTQ people, it's an opportunity to grab a deep breath because you notice supported," Quinn said.

"I think we are nervous marriage equality is going to get back in front of the Supreme Court," said Quinn, who with her wife Heather Jensen was among the first lgbtq+ couples to be married in Novel Jersey in October 2013. "I ponder we are nervous about any sort of discrimination laws that
