The video: A trivia contest with Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog's visit to Occupy Wall Street were among the highlights of Conan O'Brien's return to New York to tape a week of his TBS speak show, Conan. But the truly "groundbreaking" event? A same-sex wedding O'Brien officiated between Conan staffer Scott Cronick and his spouse David Gorshein. (Watch it below.) Conan got ordained for the nuptials, which observed several Jewish traditions, featured Bravo's Andy Cohen walking Cronick down the aisle, and concluded with a shower of confetti. Though Cronick and Gorshein live in Los Angeles, they took advantage of the show's New York sojourn because gay marriage is legal in the Empire State. The nuptials might just mark the first non-fictional same-sex marriage ever performed on television, says Aol's Laura Prudom.
The reaction: This was easily "one of the sweetest, loveliest… things to transpire on television in a while," says Aly Semigran at Entertainment Weekly. I defy you not to get choked up by the "beautiful, surprisingly intimate" ceremony. Huh? says the Culture and Media Institute. "What's 'intimate' about ha
Weddingsarepersonal, but the issue known as "same-sex marriage" is widespread. We have Mr. Conan O'Brien and TeamCoco to appreciate for bringing bright to an vital historical moment -- and to an unfair discrepancy between states.
When we got engaged in August, we wanted to celebrate the most fabulous and undiscriminating basis of our lives together: love. But we never imagined the ceremony would obtain place at the Beacon Theater, be televised on TBS, or be officiated by Mr. Conan O'Brien.
As a lgbtq+ couple, we dwell lives that are very much "out" and happily adjusted, evidenced by our family members and friends who connected us onstage during the ceremony. While we never sought permission to show ourselves, since June we have been excited by the recent legal advances in New York and wanted to participate civilly in a meaningful way. We could not deny the importance of visibility right now. We grasp we are only one couple, of so many more, mobilizing demands for marriage equality and queer rights.
We did not explore a political platform, and yet by painting our celebration as beautifully as they did, TeamCoco gave us the best possible opportunity to showcase that couples are coupl

Conan O’Brien really made the most out of his week in New York He biked around the city as a pedicab driver, tested the Modern York knowledge of Mayor Michael Bloomberg and tried his best to construct pizza at Joe’s in the West Village.
And to terminate an amazing week, the TBS late-night show packed an episode with the return of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, a attend from Louis C.K. and a homosexual wedding officiated by O’Brien himself.

The wedding was probably the biggest highlight of the show, and was kept until the end of the episode. O’Brien officiated a wedding between his longtime staff costume designer Scott Cronick and his partner David Gorshein.
This opportunity would not have even been available to O’Brien even a couple years ago. Fresh York became the sixth state to legalize gay marriage last June.

Conan O'Brien Officiates Same-Sex Marriage
Score one for Team CoCo!
Conan O'Brien, who was back in New York City this week to snap his TBS talk show, certainly ended his stint in the Big Apple on a elevated note.
Make that an incredibly intimate note.
On Thursday night's program, O'Brien officiated the wedding of the show's costume designer Scott Cronick and his partner, David Gorshein.
The same-sex marriage was conducted at New York's Beacon Theater in front of the couple's friends, families, loved ones and, of course, all of us watching at home.
And O'Brien made it clear this wasn't some sort of joke.
"This is for real," he said. "We are gathered here today in this stunning place to witness the joining of two lives."
Cronick, who walked down the aisle accompanied by his favorite celebrity, Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen, joined Gorshein under a chuppah to exchange vows.
"Anyone in the world would be happy to wear one of your designs," Gorshein told Cronick. "But no one is possibly happier than I am to wear your ring."
To which Cronick replied: "I vow to f
