Gay characters in mario kart
Google AI Declares Mario Kart Characters Male lover, Oops
Google’s new AI Overview feature, which debuted last week, has been freaking everybody out for many reasons — like that AI famously contributes to the destruction of the planet — but in local news, it threatens to absolutely demolish mid-size publishers (e.g, this website), especially as it continues developing content partnerships with major media conglomerates, ensuring their already-secured near-dominance of search results (through swarming and SEO mastery) will gradually become absolute rule, until little guys like us fade into the ether. It is very bleak!
However, as reported by Them.us, at least Google has cited Autostraddle for one thing: the source of a question regarding how many gay characters are in Mario Kart (Ironically this screenshot has gone viral without any attribution to us).:
These descriptions come from a 2018 Autostraddle humor piece by Abeni Jones, Mario Kart Characters, Ranked by Queerness. It’s an excellent piece and I highly recommend it. Also honestly when I first saw this screenshot, before realizing it came from us, I consideration someone had just cooked this up as a joke of wha
Super Mario Kart on the Super NES was my childhood jam. I could never get into sports or racing games, as they were too intense and I preferred watching my older brother play them anyway. But Mario Kart was cute and bright and controlled perfectly and had a perfect learning curve so that novices and experts alike could find infinite replay value. Its multiplayer was also one of the best.
I always played as Toad or Yoshi, which I didn’t know at the time was because I was gay! Or it turned me gay; it’s not eliminate which. Some Mario Kart characters are more queer than others, and over the many years and 10+ games we’ve had plenty of opportunity to speculate about their IDs.
Note: I’m not including every character here. I’ve taken out the baby and children characters, for obvious reasons (they’ll grow into their queerness eventually, let’s give them space). I also took out characters that only appeared in one game, were alternate costumes/colorways of other characters, or about whom I couldn’t find something entertaining to say. Also, canon is utilized when convenient. Please oppose with me (and tag yourselves!) in the comments!

9 Nintendo Characters You Didn't Know Were LGBTQ+
Plenty of gamers have been celebrating Pride Month in their favorite games. Several games, from massive AAA experiences to indie projects, have included LGBT+ characters (and character creation options). While has been largely normalized in the industry now, that hasn't always been the case.
While Nintendo's history with upfront LGBT+ characters doesn't go as far back as some other companies, there's no doubt that big progress has been made. Fire Emblem: Three Houses was a major step forward for the publisher. Traditionally, though, Nintendo has kept its LGBT elements in the background, which makes it possible that players didn’t know some characters from their classic library are part of that community.
Birdo/Birdetta - Super Mario Bros. 2
Birdo has been appearing in Mario properties consistently since the 80s, but the firm has been inconsistent with how it depicts its pink dinosaur. Her first appearance was in Super Mario Bros. 2, and the manual explained (with outdated wording) that the character is a transsexual female that sometimes prefers the name "Birdette," though Birdo is stil
Possibly the best and most beloved Wii game was Mario Kart. A fave for all, a timeless classic, an iconic line-up of characters who (let’s face it) all have gay tendencies. Obviously don’t wanna put queens against each other but here are the Mario Kart Wii characters ranked in order of gay-ness.
P.S. Obviously have not included babies (because they need occasion to grow and establish their identities) or skeletons.
16. Mario – He spends most of the series trying to rescue, Peach (a woman), only to be constantly friend-zoned. He is, however, an Italian plumber meaning he could probably have a moderately successful career in alternative industries if he was ever in want of funds.
15. King Boo – He’s dead so there isn’t really a lot to debate in terms of gay-ness. He does wear a crown and haunts castles making him a flamboyant ghost who constantly tells the living extravagant stories about circuit parties of yesteryear.
14. Yoshi – He’s Mario’s best friend which automatically brings him down plus his popularity amongst tween girls makes him akin to today’s boyband stars. BUT, he does own a long tongue so…
