Gay guitar

Are some guitars more Gay than others? I just heard a story on NPR about how the Census might provide some other entities with statistics who are wanting to take superiority of that facts for the purpose of marketing their products or services to Gay, Dyke and Transgendered people.  I don’t assume there’s any way I might even try to spell things out for these folks, or anyone for that matter,  who might want to purchase a guitar, amp or anything… a sandwich?  I intend, I don’t long for to know anything except for the fact that you might enjoy my shop and consider you were treated right.  This is a big issue for me…this is how Nazi Germany got it’s groove on…thanks to IBM and their newly developed Punch-Card system they were proficient to find out just a small too much about people.  The Census might be just fine but if only left in a very Grey-Area kind of way…I mean, why undertake I need to know if your skin is emerald to sell you a guitar?  People are people so let’s try to get over it.  The money or social program that’s made available for regions where this sort of knowledge makes itself useful should come to town regardless.  Not fo

Frank Gay's Personal Guitar

Gay guitars are a creation of luthier, guitarist, and composer and watch maker Frank (Francois) Gay and were very famous with famous region singers of the 1950’s and ‘60’s. The elaborate designs on the guitars went well with the artist’s Nudie suits.

Frank Gay was born to French Canadian parents in the town of Marcelin, which is a little city north of Saskatoon, on April 23, 1923.

I first became interested in Mr. Gay when a friendposted a picture of a Webb Pierce album cover on Encounter Book. Pierce was holding this guitar that was all decked out in fancy inlay and binding and heart shaped sound hole. I had to find out about that guitar, which started me on my quest.

Pierce's guitar pickguard was distinct, and the binding was very extraordinary unlike other guitars I have appear across. I did a little study and discovered that not only the body was elaborate, but the neck and headstock were exquisite. The headstock was like something I have never seen. This acoustic guitar had a six-on-a-side elaborately carved headstock.

Thanks, guys, for the input. His shop?? .. A cluttered garage

Thanks for the input and encouragement. Anyway, the shop was closed on the 4th of July. I wondered if they would be open on Sunday, and they were... My cash was acceptable to them w/a 7% sales tax thingy for the state. But, honestly, what was more interesting was the online information I got on him. FYI, I have been getting stuff at garage sales and flea markets for years, and the truism that one should collect/buy what one likes/loves -- again applies. To acquire a wonderous object that you like/love puts you into ownership/curiosity. You question yourself, perhaps, "What own I done?" , but calmly you ask "What do I have/Love?" That's what happened w/me and the Gay guitar. I found a neat story/history. I registered here the other day, and hold shown the beautiful instrument around to guitar loving and at least semi-knowlegable friends and acquaintences, and they, too, have learned something, and given advice/encouragement.
Consensus among many of them is that I should keep the guitar as a player with a story.... and ethics. Minor repairs could be optional then. Don'

Rock music has always been a platform for self-expression and rebellion, challenging societal norms and pushing boundaries. Throughout its rich history, the genre has been shaped by a diverse range of talented musicians, including those who identify as LGBT.

While we all agree that their sexuality or sex appeal isn’t why they are famous, we can’t support but be proud to view some rock legends fly the LGBT colors higher than ever before. Speaking of sex appeal though, some of these guitar players are definitely sexier than any pornstar I have seen on my favorite gaytag videos online.

But back to the meat of this post. In this blog post, we will scout the significant contributions and influences of famous LGBT guitar players in rock music, shedding brightness on their remarkable journeys and highlighting the impact they’ve had on the genre.

LGBT Representation in Rock Music

Historically, LGBT individuals faced significant challenges and discrimination, both within and outside the tune industry. However, as society gradually became more accepting and inclusive, many musicians found the courage to openly embrace their identities. Let’s explore some of the prominent LGBT gu
