John Travolta finally speaks out about gay fling allegations: ‘It’s my Achilles heel’

John Travolta has finally spoken out about his sexuality after describing endless gay rumours about him as his ‘Achilles heel’.

The married Grease star strike out after former employee Douglas Gotterba alleged he had a six-year affair with the actor in the 1980s. ‘It’s just about people wanting wealth. It happens on many levels,’ said the father- of-three. ‘This is every celebrity’s Achilles heel.’

This summer, 60-year-old Travolta failed in a legal bid to stop his former personal pilot from sharing details about the alleged affair . Gotterba now plans to pen a tell-all book.

But the devoted Scientologist has shrugged off the jibes, along with other previous claims from two male masseurs who unsuccessfully tried to sue him for battery two summers ago.

‘I don’t care that much about it. I leave all the media stuff go a long moment ago because I can’t control it,’ said the actor. ‘I think that’s why it persists, to some degree.’

John Travolta had a six-year fling with his personal pilot, in a completely unlock secret known to people close to the “Urban Cowboy” actor, according to published reports.

The National Enquirer quoted the actor’s former personal secretary and a boyfriend of the pilot to advocate up the steamy, bombshell claims.

“I did everything for him, including taking look after of his personal and professional schedules. Of course I knew he was gay. It never bothered me,” one-time secretary Joan Edwards told the supermarket tab.

Pilot Doug Gotterba, who now runs a charter plane service in Camarillo, Calif., would only confirm that he worked for Travolta for six years in the 1980s.

"That's how I met Doug. We both worked for John at the matching time. Doug is a wonderful guy and we are still good friends. He told me that John was gay and they had a sexual relationship," according to Edwards.

Gotterba sued Travolta, stating in his lawsuit that an unsigned March 1987 termination agreement did not contain such a clause, and that while a document issued the next month did, the original one was the "enforceable" agreement. The actor's lawyer called the suit "ridiculous." Travolta's company maintains the former document was a draft and that the more recent agreement Gotterba signed was legally binding.

This past July, a California appeals court ruled he could challenge the validity of the confidentiality agreement, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
