It’s 2025, but for many homosexual men, it might as adv still be 2008. That was the year HBO’s True Blood bared its fangs — and more importantly, bared Ryan Kwanten, in a role so oiled-up and underdressed it practically raised the national temperature. And thanks to a recent post from Glee star Kevin McHale, our collective gay thirst for Bon Temps’ hottest himbo has been gloriously reignited.

McHale, who guest-starred on True Blood’s first season, decided to casually drop a little vampire-flavored gossip on Twitter (we’re not calling it X, be serious):
“When I was on this show, closeted 18-year-old me didn’t know how to speak to him,” he wrote, quote-tweeting a photo of Kwanten in nothing but his underwear — which, for the record, is how he spent roughly 40% of his screen time on True Blood. The man was allergic to shirts, and the gay community will forever be grateful.
McHale continued: “He invited me to sit with him and the other guys at lunch.”
And then, the kicker: “Hot AND kind?! I was down bad.”

Many of you fell in value with Ryan Kwanten watching him on HBO’s True Blood on which he plays endearingly dim himbo Jason Stackhouse.
But he caught my eye on an episode of Rule & Order: SVU as a military guy wrongly accused of rape. The 33-year-old Aussie performer was so great in that episode and his rapport with series actor Mariska Hargitay was off-the-charts.
Anyway, Ryan chatted with my favorite interviewer, Brandon Voss, for The Advocate and they covered all kinds of gay ground.
Here are some highlights:
Before True Blood, you starred as a lifeguard in the Australian soap Home and Away. Were you aware of same-sex attracted fans that preceding in your career?
Yes, they’ve always been very staunch supporters of me. The great thing is that it’s a loyal fan base — they’ll stick with you through thick and thin, and I like that. You can’t buy that kind of loyalty.
I read a story in Star that claimed you purposely keep your adore life private in part because you’re so conscious of your Hunky actor Alexander Skarsgård has reminisced about his steamy gay scene with Australian co-star Ryan Kwanten on vampire drama True Blood. During a recent interview on Channel Ten’s The Proposal, host Peter Helliar asked the Swedish-born hottie to choose which of his Australian co-stars is the better kisser. His choices were Ryan Kwanten, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie. “Out of the three, I’ve got to say Ryan Kwanten is surprisingly a good kisser actually,” Skarsgård said. “He’s very tender. You wouldn’t think it because he’s kind of a tough guy, but very soft, gentle, tender touch.” Fans who watched the famous TV series will think of Kwanten and Skarsgård’s embrace from a 2014 episode of the show as their two characters (Jason Stackhouse and Eric Northman, respectively) had a steamy sex scene. Now Skarsgård is promoting his new venture The Legend of Tarzan, where he stars as the King of the Jungle alongside Margot Robbie, and the movie will give fans a chance to see him shirtless once more. The Project’s hosts even ribbed Skarsgård about his constant shirtlessness, joking: “We’re surprised to glimpse you dressed! We idea part of the publicity might
