This is a somewhat serious doubt. Almost every one of my queer friends has at one time “scored” with a vertical man (probably bi-curious) at some second. This is just a random anecdote I thought to share. I was having a chat today with my gay friend (who knows I am fully straight) and we came to the topic of dating.
