Obergefell v. Hodges is a civil rights case in which the Supreme Court ruled that the fundamental right to wed is guaranteed to gay couples. Decided on June 26, 2015, Obergefell v. Hodges required all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and US territories to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples and recognize the marriages of same-sex couples on the same terms and conditions as opposite-sex marriages.

On this Queer Currency, we’re taking a break from our usual look at individual states. We wanted to divide the the superior 10 most affordable, LGBTQ+ friendly cities so far from the first 25 states we’ve covered from Montana to Wyoming.
All of these cities scored a 100 on the Human Rights Campaigns Municipal Equality Index.
So, for this list our focus is on the city-level cost of living, the US Census data on incomes and Zillow’s information on housing and rent prices.
