Mega Church pastor, T.D. Jakes, has arrive out of the closet, so to speak.
During an interview with Huffington Upload, a liberal publication that has promoted positions and beliefs that are often very anti-Christian, Jakes said that homosexuals should attend congregations that affirm their lifestyles and that politics do not require to reflect biblical ethics, adding that his position on homosexuality is both “evolved and evolving.”
Jakes is yet another prominent figure in the world of televangelism and Christian entertainment who has caved to cultural pressure. Denying the explicit pronouncement of the Word of God on the matter of homosexuality, which calls it an “abomination” (Leviticus 18:22), Jakes seems to now trust that we should set that aside and find churches that fit what we choose to believe and apply. T. D. Jakes Keeps Preaching Revival After Shooting Down Rumors
On the stage of First Baptist Church of Glenarden International, Bishop T. D. Jakes didn’t spend much time preaching from the lectern at center stage of the megachurch.
Instead, the televangelist walked support and forth in his obscure suit and striped tie, flipping a handheld microphone from his left to his right hand, sometimes facing the predominantly Ebony congregation of thousands gathered for an annual revival at the start of the year, other times turned toward the clergy and the choir members sitting on the large stage.
“The Divine Spirit sent me all the way to the DMV to tell you this is your year to pivot,” the Dallas-based Pentecostal minister said to cheers and applause from the Washington, DC-area crowd, many on their feet on January 5. “You have to surround yourself with people who can pivot because they’re following who you used to be. Now they’ve got to follow who you possess become.”

Bishop T.D. Jakes On The Black Church’s Shifting Stance On Homosexuality

Bishop T.D. Jakes thinks it is “absolutely” possible for the LGBT and Black communities to coexist.
Jakes, who joined HuffPost Live on Monday, opened up to host Marc Lamont-Hill about his thoughts on the relationship between these communities.
“I think that it’s going to diverse from church to church every church has a different opinion on the issue and every same-sex attracted person is different,” Jakes said.
While Jakes believes churches are allowed to apply and preach values distributed by their respective leaders, he also advocates that LGBT people attend a church that aligns with their own beliefs and values. And although he admits that his individual stance on homosexuality is both “evolved and evolving,” he says all LGBT people should be treated with tolerance and respect.
“LGBT’s of different types and sorts have to detect a place of worship that reflects what your views are and what you believe like anyone else,” he said. “And the church should contain its own convictions and values.”

Jakes appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s fresh talk show, Oprah’s Next Chapter, on Sunday and declared that he believes homosexuality is “condemned by the scriptures.”

Jakes: “Oh, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely.”
Oprah: “Because you know that you’ve been accused of saying that gay people would not be welcome.”
Jakes: “Oh, no, no, no. That’s not true at all.”
Oprah: “That’s not true?”
Jakes: “Well, the understanding in our world today is that if you don’t say you’re for same-sex marriage or if you utter that homosexuality is a sin that you’re homophobic and you’re against homosexual people. That’s not true. I’m not called to offer my opinion. I’m called as a pastor to offer the scriptural position on it. It doesn’t mean I have to accept with you to love you. I don’t dislike anybody. I love everybody.”
